Requirements
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • The candidate must pass a background check.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working in a home setting and occasionally in the community.
  • The candidate must be able to maintain a fun, engaging, and safe environment.
  • The candidate must be able to provide hands-on personal care, including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, transfers, repositioning, G-tube feeding, and medication administration.
  • The candidate must be patient, reliable, physically capable, and able to build trust with the client and family.
Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on in-home support for the client.
  • Assist with bed baths and showers, toileting and diaper changes, dressing, grooming, hair styling, teeth brushing, and nail care.
  • Transfer and reposition the client using a Hoyer lift as necessary.
  • Prepare meals and provide G-tube feeding.
  • Administer medication through the G-tube and orally as necessary.
  • Support mobility, hygiene, daily routines, and overall comfort.
  • Accompany the client on short outdoor walks and community outings, including visits to the Donna Lexa Community Art Center.
  • Provide companionship and friendship through reading, movies, arts and crafts, and other activities.
  • Maintain a calm, structured, supportive, and safe environment throughout the day.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in caregiving, child care, or medical fields is preferred but not required.
  • Interest in or experience with the medical field is desirable.
