Capital Automotive Group

View

Capital Automotive Group sells cars and trucks through dealerships serving drivers in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. Its stores represent manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors and Mercedes-Benz, with local teams handling vehicle purchases and service visits under individual dealership names. The dealerships source vehicles from manufacturers and used-car auctions, then sell them alongside parts and accessories. Maintenance and mechanical repairs keep customers connected to the dealerships after a purchase, adding service work to the group's vehicle retail business. The group traces its roots to a Saskatchewan dealership opened in 1974 and is headquartered in Regina, Saskatchewan.

What believers are saying

  • Training time is paid: Capital runs in-house instruction and manufacturer training for employees.
  • Regina technicians get a transition cushion: Capital Ford Lincoln guarantees income for the first three months.
  • Apprentice expenses receive support: Capital Ford Regina supplies work clothing and allowances for certifications and boots.

What critics are saying

  • Variable rewards shape compensation: Capital says most roles offer incentive-based pay.
  • Capital's Regina apprentice role limits entry: applicants need third- or fourth-year enrollment in an automotive apprenticeship.
  • Winnipeg service support involves outdoor exposure: the role requires work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

What makes Capital Automotive Group unique

  • Family ownership remains explicit: Capital separates an Axelson family ownership team from its operating leadership.
  • Capital's footprint reaches California: its Canadian group also operates Cadillac and GM stores through Cornerstone Automotive Group.
  • Body repair is a separate operation: Capital pairs its dealerships with four collision centres.
