Responsibilities
  • Solicit, negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of complex consumer, residential, equipment, commercial building, and business loans in compliance with Bank lending policies and procedures.
  • Engage in business development and solicit new business; help instill and maintain a positive sales environment by educating customers about the Bank’s products and services.
  • Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers, promote Bank business through good customer relationships, and refer customers to appropriate staff for additional services.
  • Help attain Bank, region, and branch goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs; provide leadership, training, and support to less experienced loan officers and other staff members.
  • Occasionally perform managerial duties in the absence of the Branch or Region Manager.
  • Interview prospective applicants, request information related to loan or credit applications, and correspond with or re-interview applicants to resolve questions about application information.
  • Conduct pre-qualification assessments and analyze the financial condition and risk of financing requests within the Bank’s credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
  • Gather and analyze information needed to present financing requests to Senior Management or the Loan Committee for approval; meet with existing or potential customers; visit loan sites; negotiate loan terms and conditions; and approve loans within established lending limits or refer and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreements, customer needs, and Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient customer information and documentation; resolve processing and servicing problems for loans in the portfolio; and approve loan disbursements in accordance with agreements.
