About the job
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of pharmaceutical validation, CQV, QA, or GMP documentation experience.
- 3+ years leading validation documentation or CQV teams on large pharmaceutical capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of FDA cGMP regulations (21 CFR Parts 210 & 211).
- Thorough understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Experience supporting Commissioning, Qualification & Validation activities.
- Experience preparing projects for client and regulatory audits.
- Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills.
- Lead documentation audit activities to ensure full traceability of hygienic piping systems.
- Manage schedule, priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Audit weld documentation packages for GMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) compliance.
- Ensure document traceability.
- Coordinate resolution of documentation deficiencies and quality observations.
- Partner with Construction Management, Fabricators and Client representatives.
- Maintain validation metrics and documentation status reports.
- Mentor junior validation specialists and documentation specialists.
- Experience with Traceability Matrices, ALCOA+, Equipment & Utilities Installation Qualification.
- Experience with EIDA, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

1%FST Technical Services has acquired Validation Systems Incorporated (VSI), a validation contractor and laboratory testing provider for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. The Phoenix-based testing, inspection, certification and compliance company announced the deal on October 8, 2026. No financial terms were given. Founded in 1990, VSI offers good manufacturing practices (GMP) qualification, validation, and laboratory services from Palo Alto and San Diego. Its laboratory is registered with the US Food and Drug Administration and has held ISO 17025 accreditation since 2018. FST says the deal gives clients a wider range of integrated quality services. "VSI's reputation for rigorous validation practices and reliable laboratory services aligns strongly with our commitment to quality and compliance," said Bruce Phillips, president of FST.
