- A high school diploma is required.
- One year of inventory control experience is required.
- Ability to interpret vendor catalogs is required.
- Ability to use the parts department computer system and a calculator is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally is required.
- Place daily parts orders.
- Assist the Parts Manager in processing bi-weekly stock orders.
- Receive incoming parts into the system and clearly mark customer items for quick processing.
- Match packing slips and invoices, code them, mark them for approval, and forward them to the accounting office for payment.
- Request return goods authorizations to return unused or unwanted parts for credit.
- Return parts from inventory when they are sent back to the vendor.
- Ensure credits are received for returned parts.
- File and track all open orders.
- Review outstanding back-ordered parts and open orders.
- Communicate estimated arrival times for customer back orders to the Front Counter and Parts Manager.
- Set up new parts not on price tape.
- Update prices for parts without supplied tapes.
- Help process and track lost or damaged shipments.
- Assist in preparing for the annual parts inventory.
- Keep the parts office area clean.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and observe all safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
