Requirements
Experience as a Master Mariner or Chief Officer for LNG carriers or other liquefied-gas ships.
At least 3 years of experience as a Loading Master in LNG terminals.
Experience in floating LNG facilities is preferred; experience with FSRU and FSU facilities is considered.
Experience with marine assurance activities, including vessel compatibility assessments, SIRE inspections, and MTMSA.
General experience in marine activities related to LNG terminal operations, including contracting marine services, agency, pilotage, and marine logistics.
Right to work in Canada is preferred; candidates with FLNG experience may be eligible for relocation assistance.
Must communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
Unlimited Master Mariner certificate or unlimited Chief/cargo Officer certificates.

Responsibilities
Support implementation of long-term marine service provider agreements, including tugs, personnel transport, and logistics.
Ensure implementation of company TERMPOL and other marine-related recommendations and commitments before operations begin.
Support development of the Marine training plan.
Provide input to the Marine budget and manage related costs.
Lead and participate in developing the company's marine operating procedures, terminal operations manual, marine emergency plans, and security plans, ensuring they meet industry best practices and satisfy local regulators and authorities.
Provide general technical support for developing other marine services required for plant operations.
Assist in commissioning and start-up of the terminal's marine facilities, cooldown, and first cargo.
Represent the terminal to ensure LNG carrier mooring and cargo operations are conducted safely, in accordance with terminal operating procedures and industry best practices.
Serve as the key interface between the vessel and terminal, coordinating activities and maintaining communication to manage issues effectively.
Act as an Alternate Port Facility Security Officer.
Manage pre-arrival correspondence; supervise pre-arrival checks, berthing, mooring, and unberthing of LNG tankers; complete the Declaration of Security; conduct pre-load meetings with vessel senior officers; and carry out pre-load safety inspections.
Maintain marine operational oversight of cargo transfer and attend all critical activities to ensure safe and timely completion of loading operations.
Conduct periodic safety inspections and complete cargo documentation, including SOF, LOP, and NOR.
Witness cargo surveys and ensure required information is gathered to support commercial deliverables.
Maintain LNG tanker compatibility studies and support marine assurance vessel pre-approval activities.
Provide technical support to the logistics team and inspect contracted service boats, including barges and other supply vessels, as needed.
Provide marine expertise to operations regarding trim and stability management of floating storage tanks.
Fulfill duties as part of the Emergency Response command team.
Participate in HSSE activities and support Operations Excellence initiatives and capability development.

Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which will have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position
The Loading Master is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG’s dynamic team and will be responsible for all the activities related to mooring and loading of LNG carriers berthing at Woodfibre’s floating storage and marine terminals facility. The successful candidate will report to the Marine Manager and will join early in the project execution phase to support the operations readiness effort for an efficient transition to the operations phase and to support the company’s objective of becoming a safe, reliable and efficient LNG producer in BC, Canada.
Responsibilities
During the Project Execution phase, the successful applicant will:
Support the implementation of the long term marine service provider agreements including tugs, personnel transport and logistics.
Ensure implementation of company’s TERMPOL and other marine related recommendations and commitments prior to start of operations.
Support the development of the Marine training plan
Input to Marine budget and management of related costs
Lead and participate as required in the development of the Company’s marine operating procedures, terminal operations manual, marine emergency and security plans to ensure they meet industry best practices and to the satisfaction of local regulators and authorities.
General technical support for the development of other marine services necessary for the plant’s operations
Assisting in the commissioning and start-up of the Terminal’s Marine facilities cooldown and first cargo
During the Operational phase, the successful applicant will:
Act as the Terminal Representative ensuring that LNGC’s mooring, and cargo operations are conducted safely and in accordance with the terminal operating procedures and in line with industry best practices.
Loading Master provides the key interface between the vessel and the Terminal coordinating activities and ensuring that a high level of communication is maintained to manage any issues that may arise effectively.
Act as an Alternate Port Facility Security Officer.
Responsible for pre-arrival correspondences with concerned parties, Supervise, pre arrival checks, Berthing, Mooring and Un-berthing of LNG Tankers, Declaration of Security, Conduct Pre-load meetings with vessel's senior officers, carry out Pre-load safety inspection. Maintain Marine Operational oversight of the cargo transfer operation and will be in attendance for all critical activities to ensure the safe and on time completion of loading operation, conduct periodical safety inspections and completion of cargo documentation including (SOF, LOP, NOR etc).

Maintain the LNG Tankers' compatibility studies and support marine assurance vessel pre-approval activities.
