Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required; a degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering are required.
  • Five years of relevant experience in the energy sector is required, preferably in power generation.
  • Three years of experience in basic and detailed photovoltaic design, build, or EPC work is required.
  • Experience in low-, medium-, and high-voltage design and coordination is required.
  • Experience in utility interconnection design and coordination is highly desired.
  • Experience in electrical estimating practices and methods is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze specifications, scopes of work, drawings, and other request-for-proposal documents to understand the requirements.
  • Design electrical systems for photovoltaic and wind projects in accordance with client requirements and specifications, optimizing budget and schedule.
  • Manage third-party electrical partners developing electrical drawings and designs; review drawings and electrical studies and ensure correct application of the electrical code.
  • Coordinate with main equipment suppliers and review drawings for compliance with electrical codes.
  • Coordinate with civil and structural engineering drawings to ensure system feasibility.
  • Review project information, including specifications and contracts, to develop technically competitive proposals.
  • Assess electrical design alternatives and select the best solution.
  • Conduct field visits to gather project-site condition data and incorporate it into competitive bid proposals.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors and review quotations.
  • Provide technical support during interconnection and ensure drawings meet utility requirements.
  • Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for engineering firms, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Review team members' drawings and provide feedback on electrical scope and pricing.
Desired Qualifications
  • A degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering is preferred.
  • Power generation experience is preferred.
  • Utility interconnection design and coordination experience is highly desired.
