Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be enrolled, or willing to enroll as soon as reasonably possible, in an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Apprenticeship experience must fall within the applicable level range: Apprentice I, 0–2,000 hours; Apprentice II, 2,001–4,000 hours; Apprentice III, 4,001–6,000 hours; or Apprentice IV, 6,001–8,000 hours.
  • Apprentice II applicants must have a developing understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Apprentice III applicants must understand electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Apprentice IV applicants must have a solid understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Applicants must be able to regularly lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Applicants must be able to work on their feet for prolonged periods while using tools and performing repetitive actions involving frequent bending and stooping.
Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced electricians with installing and connecting electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and performing repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by senior team members.
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Learn applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Safely handle and use electrical tools and equipment under experienced personnel’s guidance.
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Participate in electrical testing, inspections, and quality-control procedures to verify installed-system integrity and functionality.
  • Communicate with team members, supervisors, and clients to support project execution.
  • Pursue professional-development opportunities and continuously improve electrical knowledge and skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • A basic understanding of electrical concepts is a plus for Apprentice I.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in the electrical industry is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety are preferred.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn are preferred.
  • Physical stamina for working in various environments and lifting heavy objects when required is preferred.
  • Ability to work within a team and follow instructions from experienced electricians is preferred.
  • Effective communication and professional interaction with clients and colleagues are preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.
