Senior Engineer/Scientist

TSC is seeking a Senior Engineer/Scientist, in King George, VA This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.

Responsibilities:

The position will focus leading current and future radar system design and production. The position will support technology developments, technology insertions, prototyping and technology demonstrations in support of a mission critical and highly visible new program.  Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Radar system engineering, design, analysis, and specification development.
• Complex radar system Software requirement definition and allocation calculations.
• Analyzing and reporting radar performance using MATLAB.
• Performing Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) or Radar models.
• Formulating complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, computer or electronics engineering. Other acceptable majors include mathematics, computer science or physics.
• A minimum of 15 years general sensor engineering experience (12 years with accredited master’s degree, 8 with an accredited Ph.D degree)
• A minimum of active secret clearance and US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 or more years experience in complex radar system engineering, design, analyst and specification development
• Knowledge of complex radar system software requirement definition and allocation
• Working knowledge of collecting radar IQ data from RF and network taps
• Demonstrated knowledge analyzing and reporting radar performance using MATLAB
• Experience performing verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A) or radar models
• Experience and ability to perform detailed complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration
