Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a similar field of study is required.
  • At least ten years of experience working with Executive, Professional, and/or Privacy Liability products, including public Directors and Officers, private Directors and Officers, and Financial Institutions products, in an underwriting, adjuster, agent, or attorney role is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated emotional intelligence, initiative, solution-focused behavior, and the ability to act as a change agent are required.
  • Strong analytical skills and basic mathematics, finance, and financial management knowledge are required.
  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • A Property and Casualty Insurance License, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support producers with Executive, Professional, and Cyber Liability insurance coverages by developing initial and ongoing business and consultative relationships with clients, prospective clients, and carriers.
  • Market and negotiate new and renewal accounts and oversee the marketing, renewal, and new-business processes for Executive, Professional, and Cyber Liability accounts.
  • Work with the Producer and Account Manager to develop marketing strategies.
  • Review applications for completeness and follow up with the Producer, Account Manager, or client to obtain necessary information.
  • Send applications to carriers in accordance with company procedures.
  • Receive and review renewal and new-business quotes from carriers, compare coverages and forms, and negotiate coverages with underwriters.
  • Prepare proposals and other carrier products.
  • Bind coverage with carriers as needed.
  • Review prospects' policies and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Present to clients in support of new business and renewals.
  • Work closely with MMA Southeast divisions to provide consultation services and serve as a resource to producers, account managers, and clients.
  • Meet with clients, prospects, producers, and account teams to discuss issues and resolve problems.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with clients, prospects, producers, account teams, and carrier partners.
  • Participate in MMA product-line and/or industry Centers of Excellence and contribute to Center of Excellence initiatives on a project basis.
  • Keep current on market trends, issues, and enhancements related to Executive, Professional, and Cyber Liability coverages.
  • Participate in seminars and training to broaden knowledge of Executive, Professional, and Cyber Liability specialty insurance products.
  • Communicate and interact with all levels of management, employees, carriers, clients, and prospects.
  • Build proficiency with Marsh and third-party legal, analytic, and benchmarking tools.
  • Participate in speaking roles on panels as needed.
  • Negotiate, manage, and provide ongoing oversight for carrier initiatives used by regional and national colleagues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Management Liability Insurance Specialist or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter designation is preferred and recommended, but not required.

US employers plan 3.2% merit pay rises for 2027 amid economic uncertainty

US employers plan to maintain moderate salary increases in 2027, according to Marsh's Mercer QuickPulse survey of 1,001 organisations. Base salary merit increases are projected at 3.2%, with total salary increases at 3.5%, marking four consecutive years of similar rates. Economic uncertainty continues influencing compensation decisions, with 57% of employers expecting at least moderate impact. High Tech (3.8%), Banking (3.7%), and Energy (3.6%) lead in merit budgets, whilst Consumer Goods (2.9%) and Healthcare (3.0%) lag behind. Employers expect to promote 8.4% of their workforce in 2027, down from 8.6% in 2026. Off-cycle salary adjustments remain common, with 64% of organisations providing them. AI adoption in compensation planning is growing, with 70% of organisations reporting some automation, primarily for market pricing recommendations and benchmarking.

Marsh beats Q1 estimates with $7.6B revenue, $3.29 EPS as organic growth hits 5%

Marsh reported Q1 revenue of $7.6 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year, beating the consensus estimate of $7.38 billion by 2.88%. Earnings per share came in at $3.29, compared to $3.06 in the prior-year quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of $3.21 by 2.46%. Key metrics showed mixed performance against analyst expectations. Consolidated organic revenue growth of 5% exceeded the 3.5% estimate, whilst consulting organic growth of 5% topped the 4.4% forecast. However, Guy Carpenter's organic growth of 2% fell short of the 4.2% estimate. Geographically, Marsh's EMEA division generated $1.21 billion in revenue, up 14.1% year-over-year and beating estimates. Mercer consulting revenue reached $1.66 billion, an 11% increase that surpassed the $1.58 billion consensus.
