Bowman acquires dymaptic, expanding ai-powered geospatial data collection and data mining. Acquisition enhances Bowman's technology platform with greater geospatial AI, process automation and enterprise GIS capabilities. RESTON, Va., Oct. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (NASDAQ: BWMN), a national engineering services and program management firm, announced today the acquisition of dymaptic, a provider of AI-powered custom geospatial solutions. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, dymaptic combines geospatial expertise with AI, machine learning and custom software development to help organizations turn their location-based data into actionable intelligence. The acquisition represents a strategic expansion of Bowman's technology capabilities, adding AI and custom software solutions that broaden how Bowman can help clients use the growing volumes of geospatial and infrastructure data generated through surveying, aerial imaging, mapping and other project activities. By combining Bowman's engineering and geospatial expertise with dymaptic's geospatial AI and software development capabilities, project teams can turn that data into practical solutions that automate complex workflows, identify and extract information from imagery, connect data from multiple sources and create custom applications that make geospatial intelligence more accessible and actionable. Dymaptic's capabilities include enterprise GIS administration and customization, automated feature extraction from aerial and satellite imagery, natural-language interfaces for GIS, development of custom web and mobile applications, and automated spatial data pipelines. "Dymaptic adds an important technology layer to our geospatial offerings," said Gary Bowman, CEO of Bowman. "Across the company, we collect and manage a substantial library of location-based information in support of complex infrastructure projects. The opportunity is increasingly about what we can do with that information, including how we analyze it, connect it with other data and put it to work solving client problems. By bringing software developers, AI specialists, engineers and geospatial professionals together, we can look at existing client challenges differently and develop solutions that enhance our toolkit." Dymaptic's capabilities can be applied across many of the markets Bowman currently serves, including power and utilities, transportation, natural resources, state and local governments, and other infrastructure environments where large, complex datasets inform planning, design, operations and asset management. Working alongside Bowman project teams, dymaptic's expertise can help clients automate data-intensive processes, develop tools around specific infrastructure and asset management workflows and create new ways to access and interact with project information. "The most effective geospatial technology starts with understanding the problem a client is trying to solve," said Mara Stoica, CEO of dymaptic. "Bringing our GIS developers and AI specialists together with Bowman engineers and geospatial professionals gives us direct insight into those challenges. That creates opportunities to build practical tools around real infrastructure workflows - from automating how data is processed and analyzed to creating applications that help clients make better use of their data." About Dymaptic Dymaptic is an AI-first geospatial technology company and Esri Gold Partner, specializing in geospatial AI strategy and implementation, custom software development and enterprise GIS administration and customization. Conway embankments slated for repairs.

Conway embankments slated for repairs. Shelburne Falls Road erosion exacerbated by 2023 flooding CONWAY - Residents may see repairs to failing embankments along Shelburne Falls Road as the town seeks funding for the long-awaited project. According to Town Administrator Véronique Blanchard and Selectboard Chair Christopher Waldo, erosion, worsened by flooding in 2023, has severely damaged three key embankments supporting Shelburne Falls Road. Waldo described the failing embankments as a "huge issue" in town. "The floods of 2023 really exacerbated the problem," Blanchard said in a phone interview on Tuesday. Blanchard envisions nature-based solutions stabilizing the failing embankments to mitigate future erosion. To fund the project, the town plans to use its $75,000 earmark from the state's fiscal year 2026 supplemental budget that state Sen. Paul Mark secured. Considering the high price tag for the project, Blanchard worked with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments to secure an additional $50,500 through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's Local Early-stage and Actionable Planning (LEAP) Program, which assists city and town governments with the early designing and planning for projects related to transportation and infrastructure. As part of the LEAP Program, MassDOT recommended the town work with Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. on the design engineering, leading the Selectboard to sign a contract with the company on Monday night. Blanchard stressed that the LEAP Program has made the project possible for a small community like Conway. "I'm absolutely thrilled with MassDOT and how much they've been helping FRCOG," she said after the Selectboard meeting. Down the line, Blanchard hopes to enroll the project in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), a multi-year program that helps city and town governments earn federal funding for transportation improvement projects. With designing, planning and funding still to come, the timeline for when work on stabilizing the embankments will begin is uncertain. "It's a long process," Blanchard said. "This is the first step to get us moving on that."

Bowman posts 19% Q2 revenue growth as backlog surges 50% ahead of $43-per-share buyout

Bowman Consulting Group reported Q2 2026 net service billing growth of 19.4% to $129 million, including 12.7% organic growth. Adjusted EBITDA increased 19.2% to $24.1 million, maintaining an 18.7% margin. Gross backlog surged 50.3% year over year to $658.7 million. However, net income declined to $2.5 million from $6 million, whilst operations used $7.9 million of cash compared with $4.3 million generated previously. Bowman attributed the cash outflow to additional payroll, annual bonuses, share repurchases, a tax settlement and investments in geospatial equipment and AI-compute infrastructure. Separately, Bernhard Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Bowman for $43 per share in an all-cash transaction. Management reaffirmed its 2026 guidance and highlighted a strong opportunity pipeline including large-scale infrastructure projects.
