Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • An associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or an equivalent degree and/or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, with a general understanding of computer networks is required.
  • A thorough understanding of construction tools, equipment, materials, and warehouse facilities is required.
  • A thorough understanding of Department of Transportation regulations for the relevant business areas and project sites is required.
  • Experience managing equipment rental operations is required.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills are required.
  • The ability to work through high-pressure situations while maintaining a cooperative attitude is required.
  • Strong time-management, multitasking, and work-prioritization abilities are required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to develop interpersonal relationships are required.
  • The ability to collaborate with personnel across departments and organizational levels is required.
  • The work schedule must be flexible enough to accommodate extended hours or off-shift work as construction schedules and sequences change.
  • The employee must be able to work outdoors, navigate construction sites, and spend up to 75% of the workday standing, walking, or sitting.
  • The employee must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs and work in confined spaces.
  • The employee must be able to use machinery and tools to operate, inspect, position, and handle materials.
  • The employee must have close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus outdoors; visually inspect work and small defects or parts; use measurement devices; assemble or fabricate parts; and safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
  • The employee must have sufficient hearing to understand conversations in person and over the telephone and radio and hear equipment alarms.
  • The employee must have sufficient speech to be understood in person, in groups, and over the telephone and radio.
  • The employee must be able to lift or manipulate 25 pounds and carry or push it 50–100 feet.
  • Regular bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are required.
  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail are required.
  • The employee must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on assignments.
  • The employee must be able to plan and organize work.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain Hoffman Yard facilities and manage their operations.
  • Ensure equipment and materials are well-maintained and in good working order when assets are delivered to project sites.
  • Negotiate purchase and rental agreements with equipment and material suppliers.
  • Perform annual audits of rental rates.
  • Review, audit, and distribute equipment rental invoices.
  • Assess damages and assign necessary repairs to the appropriate project site.
  • Evaluate proposed equipment and material purchases based on price, maintenance costs, remaining lifespan, and rental rate to determine an acceptable rate of return for each purchased item.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in rental operations, warehouse management, and/or facilities management.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam.
  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne accounting software.
