Simplify Jobs

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Mount Sinai selected Clarium in June 2026 after evaluating multiple vendors.
  • Clarium says Astra OS serves more than 20 health systems nationwide.
  • The May 2025 Northzone-led $27 million round funds product expansion and sales.

What critics are saying

  • GHX, Oracle, Vizient, and Premier already own procurement workflows and supplier relationships.
  • Clarium still depends on costly hospital integrations and clinician adoption across messy legacy stacks.
  • If Mount Sinai stalls, Clarium loses its strongest proof point before 2027 expansions.

What makes Clarium unique

  • Astra OS unifies ERP, EHR, supplier, weather, and geopolitical data for hospitals.
  • Clarium Vision adds OR camera-based supply capture across Mount Sinai's eight hospitals.
  • Backed by Kaiser Permanente Ventures and health-system investors, Clarium sells directly into IDNs.

Mount Sinai deploys Clarium's AI computer vision across 8 hospitals to cut surgical supply waste from $25.7B problem

Mount Sinai Health System has partnered with Clarium to deploy AI-powered computer vision technology across eight hospitals and ambulatory surgery centres to modernise surgical supply management. The system will automate supply documentation in operating rooms, where Mount Sinai performs approximately 100,000 procedures annually. Clarium Vision uses in-room cameras and AI models to automatically capture surgical supply usage in real time, eliminating manual documentation by nurses. The technology validates items against centralised supply databases and flags expired or recalled products to improve safety. US hospitals waste an estimated $25.7 billion annually on unnecessary supply chain spending, much of it in operating rooms. Mount Sinai will measure success through clinical team engagement, waste reduction, improved documentation accuracy and faster approval cycles for preference card changes. Clarium, founded in 2020, has raised over $43 million from investors including General Catalyst and Kaiser Permanente Ventures.
