  • A minimum of 6–10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, or in Production, R&D, or Engineering with significant commercial exposure, preferably including direct materials.
  • Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership principles, strategic sourcing methodology, cost modeling, and contract negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with executive presence and the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders across the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical capability, including Excel-based cost modeling, and proficiency with enterprise resource planning and e-sourcing systems such as SAP and Ariba or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and develop creative, practical solutions to complex operational challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote capacity with a high degree of self-direction.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support supplier and company site operations.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute multi-year category strategies for PVC, plasticizers, fillers, recycled PVC, PVB, dispersions, and adhesives that optimize cost, quality, supply assurance, risk, and sustainability performance.
  • Lead the full category lifecycle using the Strategic Sourcing process, from business case development and market analysis through strategy execution, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership by applying market intelligence, cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Build and maintain feedstock-to-material cost models, including ethylene, EDC, and VCM linkages for PVC and oil and oleochemical linkages for plasticizers, to validate supplier pricing and support fact-based negotiation.
  • Negotiate complex supply agreements covering pricing, commercial terms, volume commitments, capacity guarantees, and continuity provisions.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management for strategic suppliers, including joint business plans, innovation pipelines, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship and overall performance of managed suppliers, holding them accountable to service-level agreements, key performance indicators, and cost targets.
  • Develop and manage category key performance indicators and supplier scorecards covering cost, quality, service, delivery, safety, and productivity.
  • Analyze market and cost-driver dynamics, including capacity, feedstock, logistics, trade policy, and regulatory shifts, to anticipate changes in raw material economics and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Reduce single-source exposure through dual sourcing, qualified alternates, and regional supply options; maintain category risk assessments and business continuity plans.
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholder teams across Operations, R&D, Quality, Finance, Planning, and Sustainability to align sourcing strategies with business goals and secure organizational buy-in.
  • Partner with R&D and Quality on material qualification, specification changes, formulation alternatives, and new product introduction sourcing support.
  • Advance circularity and sustainability objectives through recycled PVC and post-industrial and post-consumer content sourcing, supplier carbon and environmental product declaration data collection, and lower-impact material alternatives.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Planning on inventory strategy, working capital, minimum order quantities, lead times, and safety stock levels for managed categories.
  • Measure and report category performance by establishing baseline benchmarks and tracking savings, price variance versus index, lead time, service level, and delivery improvements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and communicator to executive stakeholders by translating complex business cases and market dynamics into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain contract, pricing, and supplier data integrity in enterprise systems and ensure adherence to procurement policy, internal controls, and delegation of authority.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct sourcing experience with PVC resin, plasticizers, fillers, PVB, dispersions, adhesives, additives, or specialty chemicals.
  • Experience sourcing recycled or post-consumer material streams and supporting circular-economy initiatives.
  • Experience in a multi-plant manufacturing environment; flooring, building products, or plastics processing industry knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in category management from strategy development through execution, or cradle-to-grave category management.
  • Experience with index-based and formula pricing, commodity risk management, and hedging concepts.
  • Knowledge of supply markets, cost drivers, and technology trends affecting direct materials.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop fact-based business cases and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Skill in the creation, negotiation, and administration of supplier contracts.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPSD, CIPS, or C.P.M.

Tarkett debuts 'In the Making' carpet collection.

Tarkett debuts 'In the Making' carpet collection. September 2, 2026 Solon, Ohio - Tarkett has launched In the Making, a new carpet collection designed for education and workplace environments. The collection draws inspiration from the creative process and the ways ideas gradually take shape. It includes three patterns: Traced, Preparation and Gestural. "Rooted in restraint and nuance, In the Making captures the conscious contemplation where creativity is formed," said Omoleye Simmons, vice president of design for Tarkett North America. "Each style is an exploration of subtle movement, softened geometry and textural depth - bringing rhythm, balance and visual interest without overwhelming the space." Tarkett offers the three styles in 12 colorways. Each is available in ethos carpet tile, Flex-Aire cushion carpet tile and Powerbond hybrid carpet. Three patterns inspired by the creative process. Traced features a layered, cross-directional linear pattern. The design creates a textural grid with subtle movement. Tarkett drew inspiration from the marks and imprints left behind during the creative process. Preparation uses an abstract, deconstructed linear pattern to create movement and layered texture. Its hand-painted aesthetic brings a contemporary look to commercial interiors. Gestural translates expressive, freeform mark-making into a modular pattern. Scattered rectangles and rhombus-like shapes create a less structured composition designed to evoke spontaneity. Multiple performance options. All three styles are available in three constructions, giving designers options for different performance and comfort needs. Powerbond hybrid carpet is designed for demanding environments. It provides durability, moisture management and ease of maintenance. Chemically welded seams create a wall-to-wall impermeable moisture barrier. Powerbond RS was the world's first Certified Asthma & Allergy Friendly soft surface flooring, according to Tarkett. Testing showed dry vacuuming can remove 95% of allergens. Ethos carpet tile is designed for high-traffic spaces that require easier installation. It is non-PVC, Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver v. 5.0 and Declare Red List Free. It also contains up to 78% recycled content. Tarkett can recycle the ethos backing into new material through its ReStart take-back and recycling program. The product also features Omnicoat Technology. The barrier helps prevent moisture, pH or previous adhesives from affecting installation. Flex-Aire cushion carpet tile combines durability with underfoot comfort. Tarkett designed it for environments where people stand or walk for extended periods. Its construction also helps keep liquids and soil at the surface for easier cleaning. Powerbond, ethos and Flex-Aire use Dynex SD, a premium cationic nylon made with 100% recycled fiber resin. Tarkett also treats the products with Eco-Ensure, a fluorine-free soil protection technology. Eco-Ensure holds a Cradle to Cradle Certified Material Health Certificate at the Gold level. The technology helps resist soiling from oils and organic materials while supporting low-VOC emissions. The entire In the Making collection is part of Tarkett's ReStart take-back and recycling program.
