Requirements
  • 3-5 years of work experience
  • Strong understanding of, or desire to learn about, a capital or lending product.
  • Strong understanding of payments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong quantitative / detail-oriented background
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • 1-2 years of operational experience working in a fintech startup, bank or payments company (preferred)
  • Experience with fraud / risk management (preferred)
  • Fluency in (or desire to learn) data analysis skills and tools, such as SQL / R / Python (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing operational solutions to help evaluate complex business risk issues in a fast paced environment
  • Conduct reviews to assess risk factors for high priority merchants
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payment issues with our merchants, while providing high quality service via email and phone
  • Manage cross functional work streams with our customer support, data science, compliance and engineering teams to improve the merchant experience and grow originations
  • Review current processes and provide feedback on how to improve product operations and Parafin as a whole
  • Work closely with our partners to identify areas of risk and investigate fraudulent behavior
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify areas of optimization and growth

The service allows these platforms to offer financing under their own brand, which helps them generate revenue and build loyalty with their merchants. Parafin's offerings include underwriting, funding, go-to-market strategies, servicing, compliance, and customer support. The financing is based on the sales history of the merchants, with no interest, late fees, or credit checks involved. Payments are automated and adjust according to sales, with funds available in as little as one business day. Parafin has partnered with major platforms like Amazon, MindBody, and DoorDash to facilitate quick and flexible financing for various business needs, such as opening new locations or upgrading equipment. The goal of Parafin is to support the growth of businesses by providing accessible financing options that help platforms and their merchants thrive.
