Requirements
  • Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent), PhD, or another terminal degree applicable to the courses taught.
  • Evidence of academic success through the establishment of a national or regional reputation.
  • Previous experience in clinical experience facilitation, teaching, curricular committee work, faculty development, and/or assessment and evaluation in graduate, medical, or health care professional educational activities.
Responsibilities
  • Implement the approved Medical College of Wisconsin curriculum and clinical experiences for assigned clinical courses to meet student educational needs.
  • Provide high-quality educational activities compliant with Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Higher Learning Commission accreditation standards and applicable state and federal education regulations.
  • Provide an innovative and supportive active-learning educational environment through direction, student support, and mentoring.
  • Help ensure students achieve program learning outcomes and progress successfully through the curriculum.
  • Help students engage in a supportive learning environment and use appropriate resources to develop critical-thinking and inquiry skills.
  • Perform teaching and administrative duties within several courses in partnership with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Campus Dean.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including a strategic vision for medical student education and the ability to lead collaborative teams.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, learner assessment and remediation, feedback and evaluation skills, career advising, and experience in clinical and didactic instruction.
  • Experience with curriculum development, educational competencies, instructional methodologies, learner assessment, program evaluation, and faculty development initiatives.
  • Administrative and committee experience, with the ability to work effectively across departments and organizational units.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build productive relationships with faculty, students, staff, institutional leaders, and community partners.
