About the job

Requirements
  • Strong hands-on software or AI engineering experience, proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable languages, and experience delivering production systems.
  • Demonstrable experience building LLM knowledge management or retrieval systems, such as retrieval-augmented generation, LLM wikis, enterprise search, or related context-engineering solutions.
  • Practical expertise designing agentic memory, retrieval strategies, context management, and permission-aware knowledge access.
  • Deep, demonstrable Claude Code expertise, with specific examples of workflows, skills, subagents, Model Context Protocol integrations, or harnesses personally built.
  • Proven ownership of production agent harnesses, including evaluations, observability, guardrails, debugging, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong Amazon Web Services experience, including relevant services such as Lambda, Bedrock, Identity and Access Management, S3, and vector search or OpenSearch, with attention to security, scalability, and cost.
  • Experience working within an organization undergoing significant technology or AI transformation, including the human side of adoption and change management.
  • Experience running workshops, building training curricula, or onboarding teams to new tools, and explaining technical ideas to non-engineers.
  • Ability to partner across technical and business teams, independently own initiatives, and deliver practical solutions in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain an LLM-powered company knowledge base that captures institutional knowledge and makes it usable by employees and agents.
  • Architect agentic memory and context strategies, defining what agents remember, how knowledge is retrieved and refreshed, and how access permissions are enforced.
  • Develop retrieval, indexing, knowledge-quality, and lifecycle processes that keep information accurate, relevant, and secure.
  • Design, build, deploy, and operate agentic applications and production harnesses, including evaluations, observability, guardrails, testing, human oversight, and ongoing iteration.
  • Establish conventions for CLAUDE.md, skills, subagents, hooks, Model Context Protocol integrations, and repeatable team workflows as the organization’s Claude Code expert.
  • Build reusable developer tooling, integrations, application programming interfaces, and automation that improve engineering productivity and software delivery.
  • Deploy and maintain solutions on Amazon Web Services, applying Identity and Access Management permissions, security controls, monitoring, reliability practices, and cost management.
  • Design and deliver a structured training program for an approximately 500-person organization covering agentic memory, harnesses, Claude Code, and practical AI workflows for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Run workshops, hands-on demonstrations, office hours, and tailored onboarding, and create documentation and reusable learning materials.
  • Develop internal AI champions and support managers and teams as they embed new practices into day-to-day work.
  • Define and monitor adoption and impact measures, such as active usage, workflow uptake, proficiency, productivity, and feedback, and improve the program based on results.
  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, information technology, security, and business functions to prioritize use cases and align technical work with organizational needs.
  • Own solutions from discovery and rapid prototyping through production deployment, maintenance, and iterative improvement.
  • Establish practical AI governance covering data access, privacy, security, reliability, and responsible use across hundreds of users.
  • Balance speed, quality, maintainability, and change management while helping the organization build sustainable internal capabilities.
  • Turn loosely defined client needs into clear, executable technical plans.
  • Deliver AI-enabled products that perform reliably outside of controlled demonstrations.
  • Establish evaluation and observability practices that make quality measurable and regressions visible.
  • Improve agent behavior by refining harnesses, loops, tools, graphs, context, and safeguards, not only by changing prompts or models.
  • Help client teams understand AI system capabilities, failure modes, and responsible operation.
  • Create reusable technical patterns that accelerate future engagements.
  • Build trusted relationships with client and TribalScale teams, understand the client’s operating environment, and contribute working software to a meaningful business challenge.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading AI adoption or platform transformation in a mid-sized organization, particularly one with approximately 200–2,000 employees.
  • Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or other agent orchestration and evaluation frameworks.
  • Claude Certified Architect certification or other relevant AI engineering credentials.
  • Experience building internal communities of practice, champion networks, or measurable enterprise enablement programs.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery, DevOps, infrastructure as code, and operating secure AI systems at organizational scale.

TribalScale names Leo Giel to lead Financial Services AI transformation practice.

TribalScale names Leo Giel to lead Financial Services AI transformation practice. July 21, 2026 TribalScale has appointed Leo Giel as head of its Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) practice, expanding its leadership team as financial institutions accelerate investments in artificial intelligence and enterprise automation. In the new role, Giel will oversee TribalScale's strategy and growth across the financial services sector, with an emphasis on commercial real estate, multifamily housing, alternative investments, private equity, lending, and institutional asset management. The company said his focus will be helping organizations move from AI pilot projects to enterprise-scale deployments that improve operations and business performance. As AI adoption increases across financial services, institutions are looking to integrate automation into core business functions, streamline workflows, and improve decision-making while managing increasingly complex data environments. TribalScale said Giel will work with executive leadership teams to identify high-value AI use cases, modernize operating models, deploy intelligent agents, and implement technology initiatives tied to measurable business outcomes. "Artificial intelligence represents the most significant technology shift since the internet," Giel said. "The organizations that win won't simply use AI - they'll redesign how work gets done. Our mission is to help financial institutions transform AI strategy into intelligent automation, operational excellence, and sustainable competitive advantage." Giel brings more than 20 years of experience helping technology companies commercialize emerging products, expand into new markets, and build strategic partnerships. Throughout his career, he has worked with founders, chief executives, boards, and investors on growth initiatives, capital raising, and revenue expansion. TribalScale noted that he previously helped organizations capitalize on major technology shifts including mobile computing, music streaming, and connected television before turning his focus to artificial intelligence. At TribalScale, Giel will lead initiatives that help financial institutions develop enterprise AI strategies aligned with business objectives, automate operational workflows through AI agents, modernize lending and underwriting processes, enhance investment and portfolio management, and connect fragmented enterprise data into more unified decision-making platforms. "Leo has spent his career identifying technology shifts before they reshape industries," said Sheetal Jaitly, founder and CEO of TribalScale. "His ability to connect business strategy with practical AI execution makes him uniquely qualified to lead our BFSI practice. We're excited to help financial institutions unlock the next generation of growth through AI." The appointment reflects growing demand from banks, investment firms, insurers, and real estate organizations seeking to operationalize AI beyond isolated use cases. Rather than focusing solely on experimentation, many institutions are investing in technologies that can automate repetitive processes, improve customer experiences, strengthen risk management, and increase operational efficiency across enterprise functions. TribalScale partners with enterprise organizations to design and deploy AI-powered products, digital platforms, and transformation initiatives. Under Giel's leadership, the company's BFSI practice will concentrate on helping financial services organizations integrate artificial intelligence into core business operations while delivering measurable productivity gains and scalable technology infrastructure.
