About the job

Requirements
  • The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in frontend engineering, UX engineering, interaction design with hands-on development, or a comparable product-facing role, and evidence of shipping production applications.
  • The candidate must have advanced proficiency in React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript, with strong knowledge of component architecture, state management, responsive design, API integration, performance optimisation, and automated testing.
  • The candidate must have a strong foundation in user-centered design, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, visual hierarchy, and accessible design, and proficiency with Figma or equivalent tools.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to translate user needs and design concepts into polished, maintainable, production-ready interfaces without relying on a separate handoff for every detail.
  • The candidate must be able to work directly with non-technical users, uncover underlying needs, explain design and technical trade-offs, and incorporate feedback constructively.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working with ambiguous requirements, rapidly prototyping, testing with users, and taking ownership from discovery through rollout and continuous improvement.
  • The candidate must have working knowledge of backend APIs, authentication, databases, cloud environments, version control, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and secure software development sufficient to deliver integrated applications with engineering partners.
Responsibilities
  • Work directly with business users to understand goals, tasks, pain points, operating constraints, and current workflows; translate findings into personas, journey maps, information architecture, user flows, and clear product requirements.
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes using Figma or coded prototypes; facilitate usability testing, synthesise feedback, and iterate before and during implementation.
  • Build responsive, maintainable, production-quality web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS; implement reusable components, state management, client-side validation, error handling, and automated tests.
  • Design interfaces for conversational, generative, and agentic experiences, including streaming responses, tool execution, progress and system status, citations, user confirmation, human review, error recovery, and clear handling of uncertainty.
  • Apply and extend reusable design patterns, component libraries, and design tokens; ensure solutions are consistent, responsive, inclusive, and aligned with applicable accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with AI and backend engineers to shape API contracts and integrate frontend applications with authentication, databases, enterprise systems, and platform services; build lightweight backend functionality when required.
  • Optimise usability, responsiveness, rendering performance, and reliability; implement unit, integration, end-to-end, and accessibility testing; apply secure frontend practices for sensitive data and regulated environments.
  • Own frontend delivery through production rollout, documentation, user onboarding, feedback collection, support, and knowledge transfer; use qualitative and quantitative signals to improve user adoption and task completion.
  • Identify recurring user needs and reusable interface patterns, and feed them back into shared components and improvements to the core platform.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in consulting delivery, design engineering, solutions engineering, internal product delivery, or another role involving direct user collaboration and end-to-end implementation.
  • Experience designing or building interfaces for chatbots, copilots, agentic workflows, data-rich applications, or other AI-enabled products.
  • Experience creating or extending component libraries and design systems, including documentation, accessibility considerations, and visual regression testing.
  • Experience presenting complex operational or analytical information using libraries such as Recharts, D3.js, or Chart.js.
  • Experience delivering internal enterprise applications subject to stringent security, privacy, accessibility, or government requirements, including IM8 policies.

42% of consumers confused by life insurance policies, 1 in 4 abandon purchase

Life insurers face a relevance crisis, according to the World Life Insurance Report 2027 from Capgemini and LIMRA. The study surveyed over 6,100 consumers globally and found that whilst 47% consider buying life insurance, more than 40% feel confused or unconvinced by available information. One in four abandon the purchase process. Younger consumers aged 18-40 are particularly affected, with 28% dropping out before completion. Technical language, affordability concerns, and perceived irrelevance drive these exits. The report reveals nearly 40% of policyholders rarely hear from insurers post-purchase, and half who discontinue do so within three years. However, best-in-class insurers—representing just 10% of carriers—achieved 41% higher revenue growth and 12% lower lapse rates through personalised engagement and data-driven strategies.

HMRC awards Capgemini $47M SAP migration contract, extending 28-year relationship

The UK's HM Revenue & Customs has awarded Capgemini a £37 million contract to migrate its Enterprise Tax Management Platform from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA. The contract runs until 2032, potentially extending Capgemini's involvement with HMRC's tax systems to 28 years since the relationship began in 2004. The platform handles more than £800 billion in tax revenue and payments annually for 40,000 users. HMRC insisted the procurement was fair and competitive, with several bidders competing from the Digital Legacy Application Services framework. Capgemini became HMRC's lead technology supplier in 2004 under the Aspire contract. A 2014 parliamentary committee found that Aspire cost £7.9 billion between 2004 and 2014, generating £1.2 billion in combined profit for Capgemini and Fujitsu.

Capgemini raises 2026 revenue growth target to 8.5-9% after strong H1 performance

Capgemini has upgraded its 2026 revenue growth outlook following strong first-half performance. The French IT services firm now expects constant currency revenue growth of around 8.5% to 9.0%, up from its previous target of 6.5% to 8.5%. The company reported revenues of €12.1 billion in the first half of 2026, up 8.8% year-on-year, with constant currency growth of 11.3%. Operating margin reached 12.5% of revenues, up 10 basis points year-on-year. Chief executive Aiman Ezzat attributed the performance to strong demand for AI-driven transformation services, particularly agentic AI and physical AI solutions. The company's newly integrated Intelligent Business Operations business line, following the WNS acquisition, is generating significant commercial traction. Capgemini maintained its operating margin target of 13.6% to 13.8% and organic free cash flow guidance of €1.8 billion to €1.9 billion for the full year.
