Requirements
  • An MD or DO degree.
  • Four years of experience as a principal investigator in medical research.
  • Two years of experience involving large data sets using multivariate statistics.
  • Two years of experience as a designated Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Medical Examiner.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe, as well as data analytic tools and Visio.
  • Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, from the United States Government’s designated Security Office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or Q clearance.
  • Ability to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement if required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as an aerospace medical subject-matter expert, providing professional consulting services to other researchers, the Office of Aviation Medicine, and other government agencies.
  • Provide leadership for the planning, design, and execution of complex research projects and the analysis of results.
  • Author research manuscripts and deliver briefings and presentations to technical and professional groups or organizations.
  • Provide all notes, data, results, analyses, reports, and other documentation to the Medical Team lead.
