About the job
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- State-law certification as a pharmacy technician and at least one year of experience as a certified pharmacy technician are required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment are required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including comfort working directly with patients, are required.
- Basic computer proficiency is required.
- The ability to stand for extended periods and manage a busy, team-oriented workspace is required.
- Assist the pharmacist in accurately filling and dispensing prescription medications.
- Receive and process prescription orders from patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
- Manage and maintain pharmacy inventory, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and flagging low-supply items.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, process insurance claims, and assist patients with billing questions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to answer general inquiries and direct complex questions to the pharmacist.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements at all times.
- Experience with pharmacy software is a plus but is not required.
