About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience, including experience at a high-growth Series B–E startup.
  • Experience building products or data infrastructure powered by large language models or large multimodal models, and a strong understanding of modern AI extraction and structured-data systems end to end.
  • Technical fluency from working closely with machine learning engineers, backend engineers, or data teams, including the ability to discuss model performance, data pipelines, and system design.
  • Comfort working in a backend-heavy environment where users are often internal teams and downstream product surfaces, and where work affects data accuracy, reliability, and trust.
  • An analytical mindset, using data to make decisions and managing quality metrics such as precision, recall, entity accuracy, and coverage alongside operational metrics such as latency and throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap for a key part of the AI Platform, potentially including retrieval-augmented generation services, text and image extraction and analysis services, model evaluation and deployment tools, and other platform capabilities.
  • Partner with machine learning and backend engineers to build scalable, reliable, and cost-effective systems that support product teams across the company.
  • Define success metrics, analyze performance and cost data, and use insights to inform priorities.
  • Work with other product managers to understand end-user needs and develop reusable platform capabilities that accelerate AI development.
  • Drive strategic decisions around model performance, vendor selection, and infrastructure scaling.
  • Define success metrics for entity quality and pipeline performance.
  • Partner with other product managers and downstream teams to identify where entity quality or coverage gaps limit product experiences and translate those gaps into a prioritized platform roadmap.
  • Drive decisions on model performance, annotation strategy, and integration with continuous inference systems as machine learning approaches evolve.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, and/or large language model or large multimodal model optimization.
  • Familiarity with building internal platforms or tools that support other product teams.
  • A business-to-business software-as-a-service background, especially with products that have significant AI or data components.

About the Company

EvenUp

Builds AI software for personal injury lawyers

EvenUp builds AI software for personal injury law firms, the lawyers who represent people hurt in car crashes and other accidents, with tools for each step from intake to trial. In 2020, it was among the first companies to use AI to draft demand letters, the packages that lay out a victim's injuries, medical bills, and losses to open settlement talks with insurers. Its software, trained on past injury cases and medical records, reads long medical files to build treatment timelines, spot missed damages, and draft demands and court filings. Lawyers can also ask questions about a case through its Companion assistant, and firms pay a set price per case for the platform. EvenUp was founded in 2019 and is based in San Francisco.
