IDEMIA and JazzCash bring premiumization and personalization to payment cards in Pakistan. Personalized +1 and premium metal cards bring together greater choice, control and self-expression to JazzCash customers. Posted on 10.07.26 JazzCash, Pakistan's leading digital financial services platform, and IDEMIA Secure Transactions (IST) are expanding their longstanding partnership with the introduction of the JazzCash +1 Card and two premium metal payment cards. The new portfolio combines personalization with greater choice across different customer segments. The +1 Card enables eligible customers to provide an additional card to a family member or friend while retaining oversight through the JazzCash app. The metal cards offer customers in JazzCash's premium tiers a distinctive physical payment experience. Putting personalization in customers' hands. JazzCash introduced the 1+ Card in August 2026 as an additional debit card that an eligible primary account holder can issue to a family member or friend. Using IST's e-OneCard solution, customers can select a card design from a catalogue available through the JazzCash app. The primary account holder can also set spending limits and track payments, combining personalization for the cardholder with visibility and control for the account holder. The 1+ Card extends access to card-based payments beyond the primary account holder. It allows customers to include people within their family or personal network in every day digital payments through a card that can be managed directly from the JazzCash app. Premium metal cards that reflect a premium lifestyle. The partnership continued in September 2026 with the launch of two metal card designs across JazzCash's top cardholder tiers, marking a first for the fintech. The premium tier features a card based on IST's Ultimate Metal Art Card model - the heaviest metal card in IST's portfolio at 22 grams. At the highest tier, cardholders have access to the Mirror Card, based on IST's Elite Metal Art Pro model. Mirror Card features a metal front layer with a distinctive mirror effect and is the first card of its kind to be introduced in Pakistan. Eligible customers will be able to request these card upgrades through the JazzCash app. When a payment card becomes part of the brand experience. Pakistan's payments landscape is rapidly evolving, with consumers increasingly embracing digital financial services. Yet, even as payments become more digital, the physical payment card remains one of the most important tangible touchpoints between a financial services provider and its customers. That makes the card more than a transactional tool. For issuers, it is an extension of the brand and an opportunity to differentiate in competitive markets. For consumers, it can be an expression of identity and a reflection of lifestyle. The growing interest in card personalization and premium materials reflects this shift. In a recent global consumer survey, 85% of consumers said they would be interested in having a metal card, while more than one-third said card design matters to them. Among those consumers, 91% expressed interest in having a customizable card.[1] With nearly 67% of its population under 30[2], Pakistan is a market where young consumers are influencing the future of payments, making it increasingly important for issuers to be in tune with their preferences. At the same time, a growing affluent segment is driving demand for more premium and personalized financial experiences. JazzCash's new portfolio brings these evolving preferences to the Pakistani market, giving customers more ways to make their payment cards their own - whether through personalized design or premium materials. Building on a trusted partnership. With more than 62 million customers, JazzCash is a digital financial services provider helping expand access to financial services across Pakistan. Its broad portfolio spans mobile wallets, payments, lending, insurance, savings and investments, as well as welfare and government-to-person disbursements. IDEMIA Secure Transactions has been a trusted partner since 2014. Over more than a decade, the two companies have collaborated on card issuance and personalization, building a strong foundation for the latest generation of JazzCash cards. Customers increasingly expect financial products to offer both convenience and greater choice. Through its partnership with IDEMIA Secure Transactions, IDEMIA Group is extending the personalization and control available through the JazzCash app into the physical card experience. The +1 Card enables customers to bring a family member or friend into everyday digital payments while retaining oversight, while its metal cards offer premium customers a distinctly differentiated experience. Aamir Aftab, Chief Product Officer I'm extremely excited about this new phase of its partnership with JazzCash. Supporting Pakistan's largest fintech player as it responds to evolving consumer expectations, where personalization, self-expression, and premium experiences are becoming increasingly important, is perfectly aligned with its consumer-centric approach. IDEMIA Group is proud to be JazzCash's trusted partner. It's a strong testament to the quality, expertise, and service that IST provides. Serigne DIA, Deputy Head of Payment Services MEA, IST What is the JazzCash 1+ Card? The JazzCash +1 Card is an additional debit card that an eligible primary account holder can issue to a family member or friend. Customers can select a card design through the JazzCash app, set spending limits, and track payments. Does JazzCash issue metal cards? Yes. JazzCash is introducing two metal payment cards for eligible customers in its premium tiers. One is a 22-gram heavyweight metal card, while the JazzCash Mirror Card combines a metal front layer with a mirror finish and will be the first payment card of its kind in Pakistan. What does IDEMIA Secure Transactions provide to JazzCash? IDEMIA Secure Transactions provides the technology for the 1+ card, card manufacturing, printing, and personalization services for custom-designed payment cards. It also manufactures and personalizes JazzCash metal payment cards. Idemia readies biometric passenger clearance system for Asia-Pacific airports. / Posted on 1 October, 2026 13:44 Idemia Public Security will roll out its PaXpress SmartLane, a frictionless biometric group processing innovation, at airports across Asia-Pacific in the next six to 12 months. The product supports Idemia Public Security's quest "to make the technology invisible but the trust visible" at airports. PaXpress SmartLane's differentiation from conventional kiosks and gates lies in its ability to identify multiple people as they pass through a control area and "help maintain the flow where conventional stop-and-check processes create queues". Tim Ferris, global head - Borders & Travel, speaking to TTG Asia at the inaugural Passenger Terminal Expo (PTE) Asia, held in Singapore last week, noted: "Automation has already improved individual steps, but the next opportunity is to connect the journey. "Digital identity and biometrics can allow a traveller's identity to be established once and securely verified at relevant touchpoints - from check-in and pre-security to border control and boarding - rather than repeating the same process at each step." Commenting on required airport infrastructure for PaXpress SmartLane's adoption, Ferris said it depended on the scope of the journey, and a solution may require biometric capture devices, kiosks or gates, cameras, sensors, passenger guidance displays, and connections to existing airline, airport or border systems. He said that the airport or airline could create a digital identity during check-in - for example through a smartphone app before the traveller reaches the airport. This securely links the traveller's biometrics to their travel documents and journey information, and can support services such as self-service baggage drop-off, pre-security access and boarding. There is no limit to the number of people the new system can verify at once. "Capacity depends on the touchpoints, their configuration, and the checks required," he stated. Ferris stressed cooperation between stakeholders is key, and airports, airlines, authorities and technology providers need to design the journey together. This becomes particularly important when border control is involved or when the ambition is an end-to-end journey across departure and destination. There is also no fixed minimum daily passenger capacity for PaXpress SmartLane, and the business case depends on what an airport wants to achieve, rather than its size alone. While large international gateways are strong candidates because high volumes, peak-hour congestion and space constraints can put significant pressure on both operations and the passenger experience, the new system also works for smaller airports that have a clear vision to elevate the passenger experience or want to address a specific bottleneck. Ferris declined to name which airports in the region will be the first to deploy PaXpress SmartLane.
