Requirements
  • An active Secret security clearance is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • A bachelor's degree is required in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Human-Centered Design, Organizational Communication, or a related field.
  • Three to six years of professional experience is required in communications, strategic communications, public affairs, marketing, or digital engagement.
  • Experience developing communications plans and executing multi-channel communications campaigns is required.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills are required, including the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts, particularly LinkedIn, is required.
  • Experience maintaining websites using common content management systems is required.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools is required.
  • Experience creating visual communications using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms is required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills are required to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills are required.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute company-wide strategic communications and marketing plans aligned with business objectives, brand positioning, and strategic priorities.
  • Advise senior leadership on communications strategy, including messaging, positioning, and narrative development.
  • Draft internal and external communications, including announcements, newsletters, executive talking points, employee communications, and marketing materials.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the company website to support business development, recruitment, and market presence.
  • Develop and maintain a LinkedIn content calendar, write and schedule posts, monitor engagement, and report on audience growth and performance.
  • Produce brand-aligned content, including social media posts, graphics, blogs, employee spotlights, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Monitor communications analytics and recommend data-driven improvements to content strategy and audience engagement.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on marketing and communications best practices, advising leadership, business development, and program teams.
  • Support the development of thought leadership products, including white papers, conference materials, presentations, blogs, and articles, in partnership with technical staff.
  • Support planning, promotion, and amplification of the Impact Point Podcast through promotional copy, social media campaigns, and cross-platform distribution.
  • Support strategic communications for a Department of Defense Knowledge Management portal to drive user awareness, adoption, and sustained engagement.
  • Develop user-centered communications campaigns promoting portal launches, new capabilities, feature updates, and ongoing adoption.
  • Apply UI/UX principles to evaluate users' experience of portal content and functionality and recommend improvements that enhance usability and engagement.
  • Design and facilitate stakeholder engagement activities, including focus groups, workshops, interviews, and surveys, to gather user insights.
  • Analyze and synthesize stakeholder feedback into actionable recommendations for communications strategy and future portal enhancements.
  • Draft portal communications materials, including campaign messaging, announcements, promotional content, quick-reference guides, and launch materials.
  • Support multi-channel outreach campaigns across email, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Build, maintain, and update intuitive, visually engaging SharePoint pages that improve information accessibility and user experience.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, technical teams, instructional designers, and knowledge management specialists to ensure communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with client objectives.
  • Develop creative approaches for engaging users, encouraging feedback, and fostering an active knowledge-sharing community around the portal.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, or other government clients.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management, organizational learning, or digital collaboration platforms.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder research, user interviews, surveys, or focus groups.
  • Understanding of human-centered design, user experience, and change management principles.
  • Experience with communications analytics tools, search engine optimization, and digital marketing metrics.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform or basic SharePoint page design.
  • Experience supporting executive communications or strategic thought leadership initiatives.
