About the company

Revel builds software for engineering teams to test and operate complex hardware, from early prototypes to production systems. Its RevelTest product handles benchtop experiments and repeatable testing, while RevelC2 supports facility-wide command and control in aerospace, energy, and defense. Teams use browser dashboards to monitor live sensor data, adjust equipment, and review historical logs, with RevelCode as a language designed for hardware control. The company sells the platform to hardware organizations, combining programmable alerts, reporting, and data exports in an environment used throughout a system's development and operation. Revel was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

What believers are saying

  • Employees share ownership: Revel grants equity to all full-time staff.
  • Funding expands resources: Revel announced a $150 million Series B led by Index Ventures in February 2026.
  • Revel fits custom equipment: Astro Mechanica connected devices through its existing in-house driver protocol.

What critics are saying

  • Deployment engineers face broad demands: Revel combines component wiring, lab advice and customer test execution in one role.
  • Sales consume engineering work before payment: Revel runs free pilots for one or two months before discussing commercial terms.
  • Product focus is stretched: Revel's founder calls pursuing testing and industrial control simultaneously a threat.

What makes Revel unique

  • Revel gives operators ownership: Astro Mechanica staff author automation and reduce reliance on a single internal software expert.
  • Revel draws on hardware operators: its engineering team includes veterans of SpaceX, Anduril and Palantir.
  • Revel checks faults during operation: its control language tests expected system states at runtime.

Revel raises $150M Series B to modernise hardware control for aerospace and industrial systems

Revel, a startup building software platforms for hardware testing and control, has raised $150 million in a Series B round led by Index Ventures. Redpoint Ventures participated, alongside returning investors Thrive Capital, Felicis and Abstract Ventures. Founded just over a year ago, Revel initially focused on aerospace applications, reducing engine test-stand setup times from 14 days to 8 hours. The platform delivers real-time telemetry, hardware-agnostic control and rapid reconfiguration capabilities. The company is now expanding beyond test infrastructure into industrial control applications across energy, manufacturing, defence and biomedical systems. Revel's leadership team includes engineers from SpaceX, Anduril and Palantir. The funding will be used to scale the team and expand product capabilities for high-consequence hardware systems.
