Junior Service Engineer
About the job
- Technical education and a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience working with engines, tools, and mechanical equipment.
- A service-minded, flexible, and collaborative approach.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when needed and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Willingness to travel and work on field service assignments, potentially up to 50% of working time.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to work with digital service tools and reporting systems.
- Good written and spoken English.
- A valid category B driving license.
- Perform service tasks and support identification and analysis of technical issues through remote or on-site activities, including installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, replacements, and related service assignments.
- Carry out service work in line with customer orders, expectations, and company standards; build and maintain customer relationships, understand customer needs, and communicate potential sales opportunities internally.
- Coordinate and prepare required materials, parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and appropriate quality for service activities.
- Prepare service documents and reports for customer approval, report completed work in a timely manner, and follow up on open actions where required.
- Identify potential equipment failures, troubleshoot technical issues, and recommend corrective actions to help prevent recurring problems.
- Share suggestions for product, process, and quality improvements and recommend improvements to service operations and the customer experience.
- Apply safety rules, safe working practices, and environmental responsibilities, and report unsafe practices, near misses, or incidents in line with company procedures.
- Experience with larger engines and/or related mechanical technologies in the marine segment.
- Finnish language skills.
