As Counsel, you will join a prestigious Legal department at one of the largest asset managers in the world and work alongside a group of highly experienced lawyers with deep securities and investment advisory experience. Your scope of duties will include supporting legal and compliance efforts through research, writing, project management and related tasks. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of senior attorneys and business associates working in a highly regulated environment and guiding decisions that have a major impact on the business.
- You will provide legal support for multiple business areas (e.g., portfolio management, compliance and investment operations).
- You will engage in review and launch of new business offerings and other initiatives. You will support securities transactions, including review and negotiation of transaction documents.
- You will help resolve issues relating to investment guidelines, pricing and trading.
- You will prepare and review prospectuses and other related regulatory disclosures.
- You will review new regulatory initiatives and assist with development of business processes in response such initiatives.

- You have a JD degree with 3-6 years of experience at a top ranked law firm or in-house with a financial services or investment management firm.
- You have experience with federal securities law and strong academic and professional credentials.
- You are a member of the State Bar of California or admitted in another state and eligible to register as California in-house counsel.
- You are a skilled communicator (oral and written) and place a high value on being authentic, respectful and engaging.
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking and proactive teamwork is essential for success.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is important to you. You’re highly observant and can prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- You take the time to create and maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders. You’ve fine-tuned your communication style to influence a variety of personalities.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $171,968-$292,346
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
