Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or at least nine years of relevant operational leadership experience.
  • Applicable state licensure or certification as required.
  • At least five years of senior housing operations experience with proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising Executive Directors and providing operational direction across multiple communities.
  • Clear knowledge of assisted living, memory care, and independent living regulations in all states within the assigned region.
  • Strong understanding of housekeeping, resident care, maintenance, dietary, and business office functions within senior living communities.
  • Experience in staffing, team development, and retention.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, adapt to frequent interruptions, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong respect for resident rights, confidentiality, and high service standards.
  • Exceptional organizational and project-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment aligned with the company’s mission, values, and safety priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; internet browsers including Chrome, Edge, and Internet Explorer; Welcome Home customer relationship management; and electronic medical record platforms.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and move throughout communities, resident apartments, and other areas.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and identify and interpret written information.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to follow infection prevention and control protocols, including use of personal protective equipment when necessary.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening, required health assessments, and applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Criminal record check as required by state law.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Executive Directors in developing management teams, including interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching or counseling.
  • Support Executive Directors in meeting or exceeding budgeted occupancy goals by ensuring communities are tour-ready, completing post-tour follow-ups, and holding Directors of Sales accountable.
  • Oversee each community’s satisfaction survey process and partner with Executive Directors to achieve high satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct monthly budget variance reviews with each community.
  • Review each community’s spend-down sheet or DOMO report at least weekly and communicate variances and resolutions to the Divisional Director of Operations.
  • Conduct routine community visits using site visit checklists and follow up with Executive Directors and department heads to address deficiencies.
  • Oversee open positions in each assigned community and ensure department leaders fill positions promptly with appropriate candidates.
  • Monitor time-to-fill data and turnover rates in each assigned community.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new Executive Directors and provide follow-up training when needed.
  • Provide leadership consistent with servant-leadership principles, including listening, empathy, awareness, and persuasion.
  • Ensure Executive Directors follow communication expectations and adhere to the policy personally.
  • Educate Executive Directors on using DOMO and related systems to identify opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Perform conflict intervention and resolution for customers, families, employees, and other impacted parties.
  • Travel across assigned communities as needed, up to four days per week, with possible overnight travel.
  • Participate in staff activities that foster teamwork, unity, and morale.
  • Stay current on required training and ongoing education initiatives.
