  • Ability to climb stairs and lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work weekend and evening hours, overnight travel, and in varied weather and temperature conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Build and carry an active portfolio of 80–100 prospective donors across the United States.
  • Qualify prospects and develop, cultivate, manage, and close annual and major gifts of $25,000 or more for the Jackson School.
  • Consistently produce more than $2,500,000 per year in contributed income after a full year in the role.
  • Deliver 12–20 funding proposals to prospective and current donors.
  • Work with and communicate with faculty, academic leaders, and development staff to develop campus-wide funding opportunities and reach campaign goals.
  • Collaborate proactively and professionally with University development officers to further University development goals.
  • Travel regularly to meet donors for qualification, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Use a fundraising database and prospecting tools.
  • Maintain timely electronic documentation, including engagement activities, proposal tracking, contact reports, donor strategies, and forecasting.
  • Record timely reports, letters, proposals, and gift agreements following donor contact.
  • Maintain an understanding of University priorities, vision, and mission.
  • Participate in goal setting, proposal preparation, strategy development, and stewardship for portfolio donors.
  • Serve as the frontline contact for the general alumni community and represent the Jackson School at events.
  • Cultivate relationships with alumni and travel to meet constituents personally to strengthen connections, identify volunteer interest, and cultivate annual-fund support.
  • Work with the FAN President to coordinate annual meetings and strengthen board engagement.
  • Identify, cultivate, and recruit alumni for FAN board and committee positions.
  • Partner with the Donor and Alumni Engagement Coordinator and FAN Board Chapter Directors to support the Jackson School alumni network.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least three years of frontline fundraising experience.
  • Experience working in a large-scale, complex research university.
  • Knowledge of University of Texas at Austin policies and procedures.
  • Experience with VIP, Raiser’s Edge, or a similar customer relationship management system.
