- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to modify and update functional, measurable, patient-centered treatment goals, and refer patients when Occupational Therapist skills are required.
- Document treatment, communication, individualized techniques, assessments, and patient progress according to departmental and regulatory standards and established time frames.
- Communicate patient information, treatment results, and progress clearly and promptly to physicians, nurses, patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Adapt to caseload, scheduling, and staffing needs; assist in other patient care areas and accept responsibility for patient care needs.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Therapy Technicians and Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant students in accordance with department policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in training and orientation of new personnel and verify personnel competency before delegating tasks.
- Obtain pertinent information, participate in department and facility process-improvement activities, and meet department productivity standards.
- Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, external healthcare institutions, community providers, agencies, and physician offices to report, request, or clarify patient-care information.

Banner Health launches Walk with a Doc chapter in Fort Collins. Free monthly physician-led walks feature relevant topics, next up: Breast Cancer Awareness FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Sept. 24, 2026) - Banner Health is bringing Walk with a Doc, the national program that pairs a short health talk with a community walk, to Fort Collins. The new chapter will host free walks on the first Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. at the Fort Collins Senior Center, with the next walk taking place on Saturday, Oct. 3. Each walk opens with a 10 to 15 minutes talk on a current health topic led by a Banner Health physician or provider. Participants then spend the rest of the hour walking at their own pace and distance, asking questions along the way and getting to know their neighbors. Walks are free and open to everyone, whatever their age or fitness level. The next walk falls during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Audrey Klawiter, DO, a Banner Health family medicine physician, will share information about breast health and the importance of preventive care before the group heads out. Dr. Klawiter has practiced family medicine in Northern Colorado since completing her residency at Poudre Valley Hospital in 2019. She cares for patients of all ages and believes a trusting relationship is the foundation of good care. "Walking is one of the simplest things any of us can do for our health, and it's a lot easier to keep doing it when you're doing it together," said Lynn Bellmore, MD and Banner Health family medicine doctor who spearheaded the local initiative. "We wanted to give our community a regular, low-pressure way to get moving, ask questions and connect with health care providers outside of a clinic." Regular walking is linked to a lower risk of heart disease, cancer and depression, along with better energy, mood and sleep. Banner Urgent Care opens in north Phoenix. New location offers quick, convenient care for community. PHOENIX (Sept. 23, 2026) - Banner Health this week opened a new Banner Urgent Care clinic in north Phoenix, adding essential, accessible health care services for the community. The new clinic, located just east of Interstate 17 at 2525 West Carefree Highway, offers convenient care for non-emergencies like common illnesses, minor injuries, and other health issues that call for fast attention. Medical staff at the clinic are fully equipped to treat colds, flu, minor cuts and burns, sprains, strains, and other ailments. Other services also include flu vaccines, sports physicals, and X-ray exams to evaluate certain injuries. "We're excited to bring Banner Urgent Care's offerings to this growing community and help people and their families to remain safe and healthy," said Amanda Fisher, RN, director of Banner Urgent Care. PHOENIX (Sept. 21, 2026) - Banner Health, one of the nation's largest fully integrated nonprofit health systems, and Delta Dental of Arizona have joined forces in an innovative dental health initiative that prioritizes dignity, access and quality care to support patients and families facing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Reflecting a shared commitment to improving specialized health care delivery across Arizona, central to this initiative is the expansion of Banner's Dementia ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) Program, a guided learning model connecting health care professionals with dementia specialists. In partnership with Delta Dental, free interactive workshops equip dental providers with practical, research-backed strategies from expert mentors - covering topics such as the link between oral health and dementia, dental care strategies, and communication and behavior techniques. Banner Health appoints market director of surgical services. By: Cameron Cortigiano Jesse Selber, MD, has been named director of surgical services at Banner Health in the Phoenix Market and chair of the department of surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Dr. Selber is a pioneer of complex cancer reconstruction and is credited with performing the world's first skull, scalp, kidney and pancreas transplant. He has written more than 215 peer-reviewed publications and has given more than 450 national and international lectures, according to a Sept. 17 news release from the University of Arizona. Prior to joining Banner Health and the University of Arizona, Dr. Selber served as physician executive and senior vice president of strategy and growth at Corewell Health. In addition, he served as director of clinical research, vice chair and acting chair of the department of plastic surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
