Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yeong as head of private bank for Singapore and Asia, effective later this year. He will oversee private banking operations in Singapore and lead regional strategy for international Asian clients. Yee-Yeong joins from Morgan Stanley, where he serves as chief executive and head of sales for Singapore wealth management. He brings over 20 years of wealth management experience, having held senior positions at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will replace Alexander Harrison, who served as interim head. The appointment follows Barclays' launch of its Singapore booking centre earlier this month, marking a key step in the bank's Asia Pacific growth strategy.
Form Energy has closed a $270 million credit facility to support its energy storage technology development. The facility comprises a revolving credit facility and a tax credit advance facility linked to Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. An accordion feature allows the facility to expand to $1 billion. Barclays served as sole structuring bank, with Citi, Jefferies, JPMorgan Chase, RBC Capital Markets, Societe Generale, Stifel, and Wells Fargo participating in the lending syndicate. The financing follows Form Energy's $750 million Series G funding round in August, bringing total equity raised to over $2 billion. Proceeds will fund manufacturing scale-up and working capital as the company produces iron-air battery systems at its Weirton, West Virginia facility.
The 5.375% notes are due Oct. 15, 2031; net proceeds may fund dividends, stock repurchases, debt repayment, working capital and acquisitions.
