What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Work hand-in-hand with the Scout team to identify the right suppliers to build and supply products & services, including participating in pre-souring audits to confirm acceptability of new suppliers.
- Establish sourcing strategy for assigned production equipment and other CAPEX products/services, lead the sourcing process up to and including contract award
- Act as program manager during the post-award phase, ensuring that all industrialization at suppliers achieve the project requirements in terms of timing, cost, and quality.
- Evaluate and apply technical changes to products or services, ensuring that cost, quality and delivery objectives are met.
- Lead cross-functional evaluation of suppliers’ preparedness for each project, together with other Scout Business Units (Engineering, Finance, Legal, etc.).
- Prepare and execute negotiated contractual documents and nomination agreements.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance onsite in Columbia, South Carolina office (4 days/wk) and at in-person meetings and events occasionally at other domestic and international locations. Preference given to applicants local to the greater Columbia, South Carolina vicinity.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other relevant area.
- 2-5 years in purchasing environment with experience developing and executing procurement category strategies.
- 2-5 years of proven track-record in negotiations
- 2-5 years of project management experience
- 2-5 years of knowledge of procurement systems (SAP, Ivalue, Coupa, etc.)
- Issue and analyze request for quotations, negotiate price and commercial terms, and other purchasing aspects in the interest of Scout Motors.
- Strong Experience managing supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality and cost
- Ability to develop, nurture, and maintain excellent stakeholder and partner supplier relationships
- Thorough knowledge of automotive, manufacturing or related industries
- Capable of leading sourcing decisions while ensuring collaboration and alignment with the Global Commodity Strategies.
- Ability to take on additional special projects in addition to standard responsibilities.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $95,000-$115,000
Internal leveling code: IC9
