Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is required.
  • Five to eight-plus years of safety oversight experience is required.
  • Experience in the Department of Energy or nuclear sector is preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist credentials are helpful.
  • Experience with safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and compliance analysis is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, is required; proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio is also expected.
  • A Facility Clearance is required; DOE clearance may be required when specified by the task.
  • Frequent field presence is required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety assessments and enforce hazard controls.
  • Support incident investigations.
  • Develop safety metrics and prepare safety compliance dashboards.
  • Evaluate safety and health programs for compliance.
  • Support implementation and documentation of worker safety and health programs.
  • Provide program and project management support in daily business activities and program support initiatives.
  • Provide worker safety and health compliance support at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site.
Desired Qualifications
  • Department of Energy or nuclear-sector experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist credentials.
