In this hands-on role,you’ll work under the guidance of experienced trades professionalsto learn and grow your skills while helping maintain and operate essential equipment.You’ll be involved in the daily upkeep and repair of systemsthat include:
High-pressure boilers
Electrical generators
Water treatment systems
Condensate distribution equipment
Pumps and air compressors
Steam line components
Computer-controlled plant operations

Additional Information:
This is a full-time(100% FTE) position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,653 to $5,398 | Range 45G (Steps G - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent and two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must be able to work a rotating shift as necessary based on Plant operational needs.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid drivers license.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within one (1) year, a Boiler Operator, 3rd Class or higher license from the City of Spokane or the National Institute of Uniform Licensing Engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the last five (5) years as a boiler operator or mechanic in a steam plant utilizing a computer operated, distributed control system.
