Job Description
The Staff Accountant - International plays a crucial role in executing the financial activities of our US as well as international subsidiaries in the UK, Australia, India, Singapore, and Ireland. This role is responsible for various accounting tasks, including preparing month-end close reconciliations, post payroll entries and assisting with international entity-related compliance including audits and recurring tax filings, posting invoices, GL activity analysis, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of month-end close reconciliations, for example: accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany revenue entities, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in posting monthly payroll entries into Netsuite for the international payroll processed each month.
- Create accurate and timely customer invoices and apply related customer payments
- Process incoming vendor bills and apply payments
- Work with international accounting and secretarial partners to review tax withholding statements, VAT returns, and other quarterly compliance filings.
- Participate in the annual statutory audit and tax process for all international subsidiaries and compiling information requested by the auditors.
- Collaborate internally within the team to ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
- Assist with ongoing and new ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as necessary.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven experience in a related role
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
- SaaS / Software experience preferred
- Professional CPA qualification preferred
- 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (working knowledge of functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables).
- Google Suite experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and drive to always improve.
- Proficient with technology, able to learn how to troubleshoot technical issues while navigating multiple systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to be resourceful, willingness to learn and grow along with the team and the organization.
