Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working with troubled children and families, including individual and group psychotherapy for children and adults.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of youth and family counseling.
  • Working knowledge of the human services system.
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate meetings.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social service providers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Experience facilitating behavioral health, psychoeducational, substance use disorder, recovery-oriented, or process groups.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Relapse Prevention.
  • A New Jersey license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Responsibilities
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Identify community resources and make appropriate referrals.
  • Use the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, and International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, for psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Provide social work consultation to primary care providers, including ongoing case discussion and evaluation focused on clinical goals and treatment plans.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic counseling addressing mental disorders, psychosocial stress, relationship problems, and difficulties coping with the social environment.
  • Advocate for clients to influence change and improve quality of life.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented group counseling sessions for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based group curricula focused on coping skills, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, wellness, and recovery.
  • Monitor patient engagement, treatment progress, and clinical outcomes in individual and group treatment settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive treatment interventions and ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in developing and implementing behavioral health programming, including group services, integrated care initiatives, and future program expansion efforts.
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities, outcome measurement initiatives, and program development projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records, email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working within Intensive Outpatient Programs, Partial Hospitalization Programs, or other structured behavioral health treatment settings.
  • Experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience developing, coordinating, or facilitating structured behavioral health programming.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish ability, preferably including speaking, reading, and writing both languages.
