About the job
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience estimating deep foundation systems and proven experience in a similar construction-industry role are required.
- Strong knowledge of deep foundation methods, materials, and equipment is required.
- Proficiency in Excel, Helicap, and ACCPAC is required.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively is required.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards across the service area is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for deep foundation systems, materials, and equipment.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope and requirements, and identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop accurate bids for deep foundation materials that cover the full scope and align with client expectations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align estimates with project plans; provide input on design alternatives and cost-effective solutions; evaluate site-specific challenges and constraints; and answer customers’ technical questions.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, changes, and communications, and prepare and present reports and documentation to support bid proposals and project planning.
- Provide technical documentation as needed.
- Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates, and develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and engineers.
- Professional certification, such as Certified Professional Estimator, is a plus.
