About the job
- Hold a current Registered Nurse license.
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience in an acute setting requiring heart, lung, and physical assessments, or demonstrate ability or education in those areas.
- Have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
- Have communication, organizational, and human relations skills.
- Be able to function with minimal supervision.
- Be able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Be able to employ critical thinking skills.
- Complete initial and periodic comprehensive assessments of clients, caregivers, and home environments for admission to and continued service from the Agency to determine needs, effectiveness of care provided, and achievement of anticipated outcomes, including OASIS items at appropriate time points.
- Accept client admissions assigned by the Agency and weekend on-call assignments.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care through utilization of home assessments, nursing diagnoses, and physician-approved care plans.
- Perform treatments requiring specialized skills ordered by the physician.
- Observe signs and symptoms and report them to the Vice President of Clinical Services, Director of Professional Services, and/or physician as appropriate.
- Note changes in the physical or emotional status of clients.
- Assess nutritional needs and diets of clients as ordered by the physician.
- Educate patients and families on medications and procedures.
