About this role:

Our engineering team owns the software that makes our marketplace work. We care about good engineering practice and love to write software that is secure, tested, easy to maintain, and can scale to millions of users. We build minimum viable products, deploy to production multiple times per day, A/B test customer-facing changes, listen to the data, and iterate.

As a Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer, you will work on securing Faire’s data and infrastructure within its cloud computing environment. You will be responsible for analyzing systems, identifying security vulnerabilities, advocating for security across engineering teams and leadership, and influencing our long term decisions around infrastructure and architecture.

What you’ll do:

Ensure applications running within the cloud environment honor the requirements of our information security policy and standards for segmentation and configuration
Ensure all actions within Faire’s infrastructure are audited and traceable
Create and improve monitoring and tooling around IAM to ensure least-privilege access is granted to employees and applications that run within the cloud
Create and manage a data loss prevention program to prevent sensitive data from proliferating within, or leaving, the cloud network
Harden our clients, servers, and networks against exploitation
Empower teams at Faire with training and guidance on security best practices

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience as an infrastructure engineer or a system administrator in an information security discipline.
Breadth of technical experience across various infrastructure and security areas running in large production environments.
Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on experience leading root cause analysis.
Ability to communicate technical security concepts to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Expertise with cloud infrastructure and management in AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring tooling such as Datadog.
Experience with Terraform.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Salary range:

Canada: the pay range for this role is $156,000 - $195,000 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule - Faire employees will be expected to go into the office 2 days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, effective the week of January 13, 2025. Additionally, in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
