Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of landscape management acquired through secondary education, two or three years of additional college-level coursework, trades training, or equivalent experience in the landscape industry.
  • A valid certified applicator’s license registered in the same state is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective clothing and equipment and comply with applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or push up to or over 50 pounds and handle awkward-weight items.
  • Must have the vision abilities required for the position, including close, depth, color, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties and tasks associated with the Landscape Gardener I, II, III, and IV positions.
  • Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and fuel usage of each piece of landscape equipment.
  • Clean and inspect landscape equipment after each use and report deficiencies to the Equipment Manager.
  • Train Landscape Gardeners to perform tasks associated with landscape operations in the Golf Course Maintenance Department.
  • Assist in managing daily landscape operations.
  • Establish and maintain annual landscape management-plan records.
  • Establish and maintain inventory records for landscape equipment and materials.
  • Keep landscape application equipment calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Follow federal, state, and local regulations regarding landscape-care product use, storage, cleaning, disposal, equipment containment, and safety.
  • Read, understand, and interpret material safety data sheets for landscape-care products.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of landscape-operation equipment and the maintenance facility.
  • Control expenses and perform functions within budget limits.
  • Communicate regularly using a two-way radio system.
