Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • At least 2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging and computed tomography.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
  • Registration in both Radiography (ARRT R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT C).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross equivalent.
  • Ability to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with age-specific criteria.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, exerting up to 50 pounds of force, maintaining corrected 20/40 vision, hearing acuity, and working rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in X-ray and computed tomography modalities.
  • Provide patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
  • Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
  • Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation before examinations.
  • Operate X-ray and computed tomography equipment safely and efficiently according to departmental protocols.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
  • Maintain competency in assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic examinations in both X-ray and computed tomography modalities.
