Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a similar field.
  • At least 10 years of financial services experience, with demonstrated ability to work across different advisor groups and regional leaders.
  • At least 5 years of operational experience in a matrixed, cross-functional environment requiring analysis of industry and/or business data.
  • Excellent verbal communication, customer service, sales, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, aptitude for numbers, graphs, and histograms, and knowledge of financial concepts, economics, and business.
  • Strong understanding of and demonstrated ability to promote financial software applications supporting the Thrivent Advice process, along with excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and collaborate through empathy across corporate and field environments.
  • Deep subject-matter expertise in financial planning and the advisory working model.
  • Ability to communicate up and down the chain of command across a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, asset and wealth management, fee-based planning, mutual funds, and securities.
  • Ability to execute in an entrepreneurial environment and work comfortably with ambiguity.
  • Ability to synthesize and balance multiple, sometimes conflicting, stakeholder opinions into a common point of view.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63/65 or Series 66 required, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Consult with advisors on financial planning, retirement, estate, charitable, and business planning strategies and provide support for individual cases.
  • Educate advisors on how products fit within the Advice Framework.
  • Consult on the Advice tools stack and how to integrate it into the planning process, including MoneyGuidePro, What If Tax, Morningstar, Solution Studio, and other Thrivent systems and calculators.
  • Support distribution stakeholders in advancing planning and strategies in the field, including developing points of view and serving as a subject-matter expert in field education.
  • Identify gaps in Advice and Planning acumen and address them through inbound and outbound consultations with advisors.
  • Use technology to consult with representatives, field leaders, and Thrivent wholesalers on the advice process and individual case design.
  • Answer representatives' questions on complex financial matters, including college, estate, business, and retirement planning.
  • Help advisors identify financial strategies and concepts to address existing clients' needs, prospect for new clients, and overcome objections.
  • Help advisors confidently deliver guidance on estate planning, business valuation, special needs planning, and stock option planning and address objections to close sales.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise for internal and external Thrivent-facing collateral, including magazine content, marketing collateral, articles, whitepapers, and podcasts.
  • Partner with Advisor Groups, Practice Growth, Advisor Growth Centers of Excellence, Distribution Solutions, Wholesaling, Virtual Advice, and other areas to advance strategic initiatives.
  • Support new advisors, field leaders, and tenured advisors in deepening strategy knowledge and incorporating the preferred Advice process and tool stack into practice.
  • Provide feedback from field advisors to the advice technology consultant so Distribution leadership and Product teams understand and address field needs.
Desired Qualifications

  • JD or master's degree in a business discipline.
  • Financial services advanced designations such as FIC, CLU, RICP, ChFC, or CAP.
