Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Second-quarter 2026 revenue hit a record $7.7 billion, and guidance rose to 7%-9%.
  • BTIG produced $98 million revenue in its first month, beating internal expectations.
  • Amazon portfolio and BTIG should add roughly $275 million quarterly revenue by late 2026.

What critics are saying

  • BTIG integration costs $60 million in second half 2026 pressure margins and capital.
  • Cash-sweep litigation was dismissed, but brokerage fee practices remain a recurring plaintiff target.
  • Amazon and BTIG expansion concentrates execution risk; a weak quarter would expose management credibility.

What makes U.S. Bank unique

  • BTIG adds capital markets breadth in equity trading, ECM, and M&A advisory.
  • Elavon reaches 1.3 million customers and expands All-In-One payments across North America.
  • U.S. Bank now issues Amazon small-business cards, embedding itself deeper in merchant spend.
