Requirements
  • Credentialed Radiologic Technologist with fluoroscopy training, such as ARRT certification or equivalent.
  • Eligible for or currently holding appropriate Wisconsin licensure to operate fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience operating radiologic or fluoroscopic imaging equipment.
  • Experience working with human research participants or in a clinical or research setting.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with clinical research regulations, including Institutional Review Board protocols and human subjects protections.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with training staff.
  • Recruit, screen, select, determine eligibility, and enroll trial participants; collect complex information; perform medical assessments under supervision of a medically licensed professional; and answer varied participant questions.
  • Schedule logistics, determine workflows, and secure resources for clinical research trials.
  • Analyze videofluoroscopic swallow study images to derive metrics as study outcomes.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks; troubleshoot imaging equipment issues; ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and safety of imaging rooms and equipment; and maintain compliance with institutional, state, and federal radiation safety requirements.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Operate radiologic equipment during dysphagia research study visits according to research protocols, imaging standards, and radiation safety regulations.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for clinical research participants, provide information about research procedures and expectations, ensure adherence to research protocols, and alert the Principal Investigator to issues.
  • Identify work-unit resource needs and manage supply and equipment inventory levels.
  • Manage research workflow components and collect, prepare, process, and submit participant data and samples to appropriate entities in accordance with research protocols.
  • Identify resource needs and develop clinical research documents, including job aids, tools, processes, procedures, and training materials; contribute to protocol development.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with research, swallowing physiology, or videofluoroscopic swallowing studies.
  • Experience analyzing imaging data for research purposes.
  • Experience training or supervising student researchers.
  • Experience interacting with older adults and persons with cognitive impairment.
  • Experience with scheduling in a clinical or research setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus in communication sciences and disorders, health sciences, biology, radiologic sciences, or a related discipline.
