Requirements
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
  • At least 6 years of electrical construction, quality control, or commissioning experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, submittals, single-line diagrams, and other contract documents.
  • Ability to track quality-control details across multiple project activities while working under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on working environment.
  • Experience in a decision-making position, with self-motivation and an analytical mindset.
  • Experience collaborating with field and management teams to understand and implement technological and quality programs.
  • References, background check, drug screening, and a valid driver’s license are required.
  • Construction Quality Control Management for Contractors (CQMC) and Construction Quality Manager (CCQM) certifications are preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work with project managers and project teams to implement and manage project-specific quality programs and procedures.
  • Assist project teams in following project work-planning procedures and developing and using project work plans, procedures, checklists, plans, forms, and logs throughout the project; the position may cover multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Promote a quality culture that embraces implementing quality from the start and coach continuous learning to improve project efficiency and quality.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Drive implementation of quality and commissioning programs on projects, including site-specific quality plans, policies, and procedures, through proactive planning, training, support, and sharing lessons learned.
  • Manage verification and documentation for Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment, ensuring conformance with approved submittals and compliance with the Equipment Protection Plan.
  • Collaborate with construction and quality and commissioning teams to schedule and conduct Foreign Objects and Debris (FOD) inspections before energization of medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and panelboards.
  • Torque bolts and fasteners to specified tolerances to ensure proper assembly and safety standards.
  • Conduct megger testing on feeder wires to verify insulation resistance and electrical safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, torque reports, megger reports, and related documentation.
  • Assist with the First Time Energization (FTE) process from start to finish.
  • Support or participate in required daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, including commissioning, scheduling, coordination, pre-energization, and staffing meetings, when the Quality Control and Commissioning Manager cannot attend.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of processes, systems, and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare daily quality reports documenting field discrepancies and audit findings, and support corrective actions.
  • Support investigations into quality-related incidents, conduct root-cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and establish preventive measures to minimize future incidents.
  • Identify and assess quality risks associated with operations.
  • Perform other assigned duties, including temporary and training assignments.
