Requirements
  • A passion for organic food and natural medicine and an interest in the retail and grocery industry.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to set customer service standards in the Bistro department.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • An eye for merchandising and the ability to assist with inventory management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and desire to lead by example and create a positive, supportive working environment.
  • Desire to motivate and train team members.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisor role.
  • Food service or restaurant experience is considered an asset.
  • Food Safe certification.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to delegate and direct the work of others while working as part of a team.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week on mornings and afternoons as early as 6:00 a.m., weekdays and weekends, with evenings and weekends being especially important.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Bistro Manager to ensure effective communication throughout the day regarding department priorities.
  • Set daily priorities and the pace for the team.
  • Coach team members and help drive selling and promotion within the department throughout the day.
  • Support the Bistro Manager by actively working to meet operational standards.
  • Train employees on and promote the customer service standard expected in the Bistro department.
  • Create and complete checklists with assistance from department team members.
  • Facilitate production of in-store prepared items.
  • Provide regular coaching and guidance.
  • Adopt and encourage a positive working environment.
  • Assist with recording, monitoring, and reporting spillage.

  • Previous food service or restaurant experience.
