Requirements
  • A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctor of Medicine degree is required.
  • Demonstrated potential for exceptional teaching at the medical school or graduate level in the relevant subject areas.
  • Demonstrated potential for research.
  • Ability to work well with the rest of the faculty team.
  • Accuracy and productivity in completing required tasks.
  • Ability to perform general administrative duties.
  • Clear communication skills, relevant content and clinical expertise, and the ability to teach osteopathic principles and techniques at the undergraduate medical education level.
  • Basic computer skills supporting proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as software used to prepare written exams and learning management systems.
  • Ability to sit and stand extensively.
  • Ability to lift 5 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with faculty on the Harlem campus to develop, organize, and deliver the first-, second-, and third-year Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine curriculum simultaneously on both campuses.
  • Teach first-, second-, and third-year medical students in a discipline-based curriculum on the Middletown campus.
  • Serve on the college's administrative committees.
  • Have or develop scholarly activity that results in peer-reviewed publications.
  • Travel infrequently to the branch campus location in Manhattan, New York.
  • Travel to professional academic conferences as approved by the Department Chair.
Desired Qualifications
  • Board eligibility or board certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, or a certificate of special proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (C-SPOMM).
