Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, schedule, and supervise the preparation, cooking, baking, and packaging of foods.
  • Monitor the food service distribution process to ensure that delivered foods are of high quality and served appropriately.
  • Participate in the preparation of foods and baked goods as needed and resolve unusual or unforeseen problems.
  • Work from prepared menus and predetermined recipes to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
  • Maintain portion control standards.
  • Instruct and demonstrate food preparation, packaging, and delivery processes to personnel.
  • Supervise and coordinate the cleaning of food preparation equipment and facilities to maintain an orderly, clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
  • Determine foodstuff, supply, and material needs, request inventory, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Review, inspect, and supervise the delivery and storage of foodstuffs, supplies, and materials to prevent shortages and damage.
  • Maintain files and records, including equipment servicing schedules, inventory control, and personnel-related documentation.
  • Prepare periodic activity and production reports for the food service center, personnel time reports, and other related documentation.
  • Monitor, observe, review, and evaluate the performance of food service personnel.

After years of explosive growth, ghost kitchens face a reckoning as consumers seek cheaper alternatives. Throughout the pandemic, the delivery-only virtual brand model proliferated, and through much of 2022, as brands noted the stickiness of consumers’ digital ordering habits, they continued to gain ground.
