Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina.
  • Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency or equivalent hospital experience.
  • Provide care for both adult and pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to code blues and other emergencies throughout the hospital.
  • Participate in medication preparation and management of high-risk patients, including STEMI, acute ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, rapid sequence intubation, and procedural sedation.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical services, including pharmacokinetic dosing of antimicrobials and anticoagulants, culture follow-up on discharged patients, and other targeted interventions.
  • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing emergency medicine pharmacy services.
  • Oversee medication reconciliation technicians and perform final review of home medication lists.
  • Precept and mentor PGY1 and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residents.
  • Provide care for adult and pediatric patients.
