General Service Technician Apprentice - Weekends Off
About the job
- Must have a current driver's license in good standing.
- Must have tools that enable completion of the described repairs.
- Must be comfortable working with computers and tablets.
- Must occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds.
- Must be able to use tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces dictated by the vehicle's needed repair.
- Must have the dexterity needed to efficiently use hand tools.
- Must walk and stand for the majority of the workday.
- Must be able to drive manual-transmission vehicles.
- Must maintain a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.
- Must efficiently navigate a computer.
- Perform maintenance and repair services, including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, suspension alignments, and related work.
- Perform state-mandated vehicle emissions and safety inspections in accordance with state regulations.
- Troubleshoot customer concerns as part of a team and resolve them quickly and effectively.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy digital vehicle inspections.
- Ensure preventive maintenance reports are complete and accurate.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations, including hazardous-waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know requirements.
- Assist with housekeeping functions as directed by management.
- Work closely with the service department and communicate the extent of vehicle damage or malfunctions to guests.
- Follow and promote standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
- State Vehicle Inspection Certification is preferred.
