Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology, imaging, or an imaging program.
- Registry eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists in MRI, with MRI registration required within one year of hire.
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross equivalent is required.
- Maintain and renew American Registry of Radiologic Technologists credentials, state licensure, Basic Life Support certification, PPD, respirator fit testing, and point-of-care training.
- Have 0-2 years of modality-specific experience; the posting also lists 1-2 years of experience.
- Perform high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
- Be familiar with age-specific criteria.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Meet physical requirements including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, moving patients up to approximately 350 pounds with assistance, and pushing or pulling patients or objects up to approximately 350 pounds.
- Be physically qualified by medical personnel for respirator use initially and annually.
- Deal effectively with stressful situations.
- Possess verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate computer literacy.
- Work overtime as required.
- Learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
- Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations according to established protocols while maintaining image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow.
- Complete patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in Radiology Information System and Picture Archiving and Communication System platforms to support physician interpretation.
- Maintain image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.
- Adhere to departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.
- Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
- Use the SHIELD reporting platform for events outside a normal encounter.
- Follow Magnetic Resonance Imaging safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.
- Uphold compliance and organizational standards.
- Perform routine equipment quality-control checks, assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and place service tickets as needed.
- Support onboarding and training of staff and students.
- Participate in performance-improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.
- Participate in staff meetings, lunch-and-learn sessions, and quality meetings.
- Rotate to other locations as needed for training or staffing.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
